WEAR RED!!
John Wesley strongly argued that waiting for grace, the active presence of the Spirit, is an active waiting. We do not sit around doing nothing. We engage ourselves in preparing for the coming of God’s grace. More than that, this preparing for the coming of God’s grace is, in fact, the consequence of God’s grace already present and active within us. Active waiting does not mean that we try to earn God’s grace, that we can compel God to act, or that there is even a direct relationship between our actions and God’s actions. Active waiting is a preparing of the way, inspired and empowered by God, for the Spirit to do something surprisingly new.
Church offices will be closed for Memorial Day.
Newsletter articles are due May 27th. Any articles can be sent to fumcsafford@gmail.com

Peace with Justice Sunday!
What is it? And what does it help?
One this day, we come together to support ministries that work for peace and fairness around the world. It’s a day when the church speaks out against violence and inequality and renews its commitment to be peacemakers—just as Jesus taught.
Special Sundays give us a chance to focus our prayers and support on important ministries all year long—uniting our gifts to multiply our impact.
Annual Conference Ministries (50%)
Half of the funds collected stay local and support ministries that promote peace, fairness, and education where you live.
Ministries and Grants (50%)
The other half supports United Methodist efforts across the U.S. and beyond. Grants are available to churches and organizations working on initiatives that promote peace, challenge injustice, and empower underrepresented communities—especially Ethnic and Minority Local Churches.
